We found The Home Doctor after hearing an ad on WTKK 96.9 talk radio.
After placing the initial phone call and speaking directly with Adam, he was at our house for an in-home consultation within that same week.
He made a great impression from the start and was very clear about how he could help us with our renovation.
Our project included a complete kitchen renovation as well as opening a wall to a 3 season porch, which would also be renovated into a usable year round room. The task seemed daunting, but Adam put our minds at ease and we had a sense of trust from the beginning. He gave us a fair price, and started the job the very next week.
Right from the start The Home Doctor and his crew were true to their word. They call when they said they will call, they show up when they say they will show up etc... Their Master carpenter, George became like part of our family. He came to the house every day at 8am, was respectful, hard-working and very neat about his work. He made sure the house was always "livable, neat, and clean" even when walls came down and the kitchen came down to the studs. They worked fast and even provided us with a temporary sink while we waited for our appliances, etc.. It was a much more pleasant experience than we were expecting, and we did it all with a newborn baby in the house. I cannot say enough good things about George, Adam and his crew.
The project took about 7-8 weeks, Adam came by to check on the progress and our satisfaction on a daily basis. We were always able to get in touch with someone if we needed anything or had any questions. The design and the final product is wonderful, they doubled our counter and cabinet space and our bonus room adds so much more space to our home. The project was hassle-free, and we are so pleased with the outcome that we are searching our house for other projects for the Home Doctor to do in the future!

I put the job bid out to 5 contractors and Adam had the best price,
recommendation and worked the hardest with drawings and time spent with me and
understanding what I needed done. He has proven to be an excellent choice. His
knowledge and technical skills (and his patience with me and my amateur design
ideas) have produced a project that actually far exceeds my expectations. He
demands perfection and has even had the guys take something apart and do it over
if it does not meet with his approval. He is a very hard working man who takes
his personal and professional reputation very seriously!
Scope of the project - dismantle and replace existing attached 2 car garage and sun porch with a new garage, 2nd floor full apartment with exterior stairway and deck, and winterize the sun porch to become a breakfast nook with a new opening to the kitchen, which is also redesigned with new counters, cabinets and appliances. The job also involved replacing the shingles on the house roof and adding two sky lights, replacing the back deck and its old supports and stairway and adding a door and stairway to the back of the garage. Replace the existing aluminum siding, shutters and gutters on the house to match the new garage and apartment. The have even reshingled my side yard well and will put new vinyl siding on it so it matches the remodeled house :-)
Because my project is 75% outdoors, the rain of May, June and July did cause slow downs. But since then much more has been accomplished!
A wise neighbor, (who is also a contractor) , told me the very valuable upside of a slowdown is that it gives you a chance to step back, look at the work and detect/plan any changes. We have stayed within budget except for the owner extras that I have added as we've gone along.
I am very happy and pleased that I have selected The Home Doctor.

We think the the "Home Doctor" did a great job at our house. We had a
very rotten porch that needed to be taken down and replaced.
Ours was not a huge project, in fact we had contacted another contractor who didn't seem to want to give us the time of day - like we weren't important enough or something.
Adam came out and looked at the project and gave us an estimate/quote. We had an additional bit of roof work that had to be done that was not in the original estimate or work plan, so we agreed to the additional amount for that. But aside from that everything was done with no additional hidden expenses. The men that worked for him were very personable and dependable. They came early, worked all day and straightened up the "site" at the end of each work day. They came each day until it was finished. It was a two/three week project.
Adam stopped by to check on the work almost every evening which impressed us.
We were very pleased with the whole experience, and what is more the porch turned out even better than we envisioned it.
In the future if we have anything at all that we what done for our house, we would not even think about going to another contractor.
